About me
I graduated in dentistry from the University of Bergen in 2000. During the following four years I worked as a dentist in Tromsø. I then moved to Ålesund before settling in Bergen in 2008. Since then, I have been affiliated with the university.
For several years I ran my own private dental practice in Nesttun, Bergen. In 2023 I qualified as a specialist in Prosthodontics (Oral Prosthetics). The same year, after 13 years of operation, I sold my dental practice.
Currently, I divide my workweek between the University of Bergen and the Vestland Competence Center for Oral Health Services. At the university, I work as a senior dentist with prosthodontics and comprehensive treatment, while at the competence center I work clinically with referred patients as a specialist in prosthodontics.

Course activities
In 2016, I delivered my first course for dental professionals. It took place at the regional meeting in beautiful Loen, where I had the pleasure of presenting a half-day course in clinical photography. Since then, I have given one to two courses annually. Recently, my teaching activities have increased and expanded to include new prosthodontic topics. Please feel free to get in touch regarding courses or lectures. Both new and established course topics may be relevant.
– Removable prosthodontics course
I have developed a course on removable dentures. The course lasts approximately three hours, including practical exercises. It covers important fundamental principles, provides useful tips and tricks for the fabrication of complete and partial removable dentures, and includes clinical cases from my everyday prosthodontic practice.
– Fixed prosthodontics course
This course focuses on fixed prosthodontics (excluding implant treatment) and is intended for the general dental practitioner. Topics include essential principles such as tooth preparation design, force distribution, and cementation. More specialized solutions are also discussed, including split crowns, retrograde post-and-core systems, and root caps. Adhesive bridges and restoration of root-filled teeth are covered as well. The course is richly illustrated with clinical examples and lasts approximately three hours.
– Everyday prosthodontics
A full-day course combining the two courses above: fixed prosthodontics before lunch and removable prosthodontics after lunch. Duration: 5 to 6 hours.
– Photography course for the dental team
The aim of this course is to help the dental team integrate photographic documentation into everyday clinical practice and to inspire participants to use their cameras outside the clinic as well.
Clinical photographic documentation is becoming increasingly important. The course covers all aspects of clinical photography, from basic photographic theory to practical clinical applications. It is richly illustrated with both clinical and non-clinical images and includes practical tips and exercises. Total duration is approximately three hours, including hands-on training.
– Four tips for clinical photography
A condensed version of the photography course, with less theory and fewer non-clinical images. The lecture focuses on the essentials: camera settings, positioning, equipment, extra touches, and practice/inspiration. Duration: 30 minutes.
– Cementation of prosthetic restorations
This was my specialist examination lecture when I became a prosthodontic specialist. It covers temporary cements, water-based cements, self-adhesive resin cements, and conventional resin cements. The lecture reviews properties and indications to help clinicians make informed choices when cementing prosthetic restorations. Duration: 45 minutes.
– The digital dental team
Our profession is developing rapidly, particularly regarding digital technologies. This course explores both the opportunities and the limitations of available digital tools for dentists and dental technicians. Particular emphasis is placed on prosthodontics and clinical photography, and the course can last up to three hours.
– “Ciderodontology”
A lecture about hard cider disguised as a dental lecture, best combined with cider tasting. It covers the history of hard cider, production methods, and an introduction to different hard cider styles. Duration: approximately 30 minutes.
